New Homecoming Teaser

Well its christmas, and all I can seem to think about is this blasted movie. I have work to do man. Anyway, Day 1 of filming took place Dec 22nd at Gavilan College. That day we tackled the intro high school and the driving to the lake scenes. We got to play with a rad new car mount. I wish we had some behind the scenes pictures, because it was intense. Thats not my camera or from the shoot, but you get the idea. Its a fun little tool.

The day went by so fast, sitting here trying to write about is hard, because its such a blur. It felt like a job trying to get the scenes done fast and efficiently. The actors had fun though. I think I'm jaded about the whole filmmaking process exceppttt when it comes to the death scenes and special effects. The talking and dialog scenes of the movie is just point and click for me and I shouldn't feel that way. It felt easy... Filmmaking is not easy. It shouldn't feel that way. Something isnt right here. I need to bring my style and originality to the entire film, not just the death scenes I'm so excited to be doing and I know will satisfy my artistic side of the entire film. The editing side of it, which I'm handling myself as well, is where the fun is for me so far. But I want to go all out and start to put my stamp on this project more. Saturday it seemed like I was on auto pilot and just working. Shooting this film in 6-8 days seems not enough time now. I want to double that, maybe 16 days. And just really focus.

This post is more about how I'm feeling as a filmmaker/director/producer on this thing... but.. anyway... heres a scene that I feel came out exactly how I wanted to. Its going to be a bitch the get the rights to the song, if we can't, I'll figure something out. I'll find a good song to use that'd be just as perfect.

Test Footage shot last week

Homecoming: FOOTBALL DEATH

Add to My Profile | More Videos

So I wanted to get the juices flowing and do a little test scene, so I called Brandon, and another actor, Joe Daman, and got John to whip up a little scene.. I came up with the idea of the person getting beaten to death with a football. Horror fans are telling me it might be a first! The first death by football. Wow, I'm an originator, a visionary. I always have been, thank you horror fans for seeing it. I tell you, the horror community is so responsive.. they live for this stuff. I can't wait to finish the dang thing and start marketing it. Self distribution baby.. I think thats the way to go. DIY. PUNK ROCK. A distribution company is going to have to really sell me on the idea, because I think I'll be able to do it myself. Totally. This movie is going to be glorious, I basically shot that scene by myself in like an hour and a half.

Look at what I do with a crew backing me up baby.
